Had a stroke like incident, and insurance ended with Badger care. so had to use a "swing bed here, made a lot of progress in a short time, physical, speech, occupational nice to have several types of therapy every day, staff overall is supportive and kind, a few times had been a bit short with me, one time Terry brought me to my room, and I wanted to get into bed, she called an assistant to help, I got into bed then of course had to use the restroom, I pressed the call light and Terry arrived, I informed her I had to use the restroom, and she replied, you could have gone before getting into bed, I replied,"could have?" and then said I was sorry, did she want me to wait a little, she got another staff and they did help me, I just felt a little put off. Another time, I had an Evastin injection in Eau Claire for the day, and upon returning had to use the restroom. Jason and Terry were there to assist.. when you use the commode the staff put a "gate belt on you to hold in case you are unstable. They Are also supposed to give clear instructions on how to move to get where you need to b, e, IE: "move your left foot left, moving closer to your target. I felt I had been standing 45 seconds, when finally Jason said The chair is behind you, in a tone that to me sounded like "obviously, so I replied well no one said anything. just felt the ball had been dropped. A couple of nights I had hard times, Lucky there was a nurse Heather to listen to me cry about missing my family, she was generally concerned for me and listened to all I had to say. really made me feel better. You can pay someone to be a nurse but you can't pay them to care. Marnee Is incredible with Physical Therapy, pushing me to do more and very encouraging. Food Is decent but you have to drink city water, unless you specifically ask for bottled. Many times they would just fill your cupfrom the bathroom tap to make it easy. I had to ask a friend to wash my clothes since they use Ultra and Era laundry detergent, which causes me to have a rash. Marnee is amazing in physical therapy, pushing me to go further, and very encouraging. staff is supposed to have discussions in front of you during shift change so you can answer questions, or correct any information exchanged, this only happened once after I said aren't they supposed to do that in here? Brenda was another very helpful physical therapist, fun to work with, and encouraging me to do more. They lost my batman PJ pants, that my friend bought for me. They have you fill out your meal preferences for the next day each morning at breakfast, however some times, food was missing because they had run out. It’s hard being in the Hospital, and stinks that the staff isn’t allowed to wear fun scrubs like other facilities, it just makes it feel less like jail. Overall, I’m pleased with the progress I made during my stay.
